Farhad R Alavi is Managing Partner at Akrivis Law Group, PLLC, a boutique law firm in Washington, DC focusing on business, international trade & commerce, banking & finance, and litigation. His clients include major multinational companies in the United States and abroad as well as small businesses and high net worth individuals. Prior to founding Akrivis Law Group, Mr. Alavi was partner of BHFA Law Group, PLLC and operated his own practice. He previously practiced in several firms in Washington, most notably at Baker & McKenzie LLP and Holland & Knight LLP, where he was at one point concurrently appointed in the firm’s Abu Dhabi, UAE office. Mr. Alavi has vast experience in international business matters and has experience in international joint venture and financing agreements, as well as oil & gas. Mr. Alavi is particularly versed in issues related to projects and dealings involving key emerging and frontier markets, including the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region, with emphasis on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. His experience also includes key regulatory matters impacting international business including anti-corruption regulations, sanctions, export controls, and customs laws.
