Benn McGrady provided training on the application of international trade law in the context of public health emergencies. This was part of a broader workshop for government officials from India conducted by the O’Neill Institute and organized by the Pan American Health Organization.

Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids
Benn McGrady conducted a training session on tobacco packaging and palatability measures under WTO law for the International Legal Consortium of the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. The session involved government officials and representatives of civil society from a number of Asian countries.

O’Neill Institute (co-host)
The O’Neill Institute co-hosted a panel discussion with the Georgetown International Arbitration Society and the Institute of International Economic Law on investment treaty arbitration and tobacco control. Speakers included Benn McGrady, Justin Jacinto and Matthew Porterfield. Mark Herlihy moderated.

Benn McGrady presented on the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade at a lunchtime seminar hosted by the Institute of International Economic Law.

O’Neill Institute Colloquium
The O’Neill Institute hosted a colloquium on tobacco and trade. Speakers included Matthew Myers of the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and Benn McGrady. The discussion addressed a wide range of issues from US Clove Cigarettes to the treatment of tobacco in negotiation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.

Benn McGrady conducted a training session on intellectual property protection under international trade agreements for the Office of the US Global AIDS Coordinator. The session was tailored to support involvement of the Office in Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations.
